We see them on the news. We hear a lot about them, what they have done for the majority, and the fate that they are all faced with. Not to mention the risks they took, the risks they will continue to take to save motherland and its people. Only a few get to be grateful for them, and acknowledge the heroes in them.
Our militaries are also our heroes. How often did we stop to consider their existence, and how much effort have we actually exerted to let them know that they matter to us? We accept them and their profession as a group. We fail to see the individuals who left the comforts of their homes, and the warm hugs of their families to do great things.
For most of us who don’t have family members who are in military service, we tend to forget that there are brave individuals out there risking their precious lives while we care less about what’s going on around us. For the family members of these heroes, they spend each day praying that they will get to see their father, brother or uncle again after they have courageously done their jobs.
