Lovely Reunion – Coming Home from the Military
A cousin joyfully told the story of that wonderful surprise she got from her father who is in the military service. She said it was one ordinary day in school that turned into one extraordinary event. Her father has been away from home for almost a year. And of course, she misses him every single day.
In the middle of one of our classes, her teacher informed her that someone was to meet her at their Principal’s office. She felt nervous because a trip to the Principal’s office doesn’t sound good. It is always linked with some problems in class. But she obeyed just the same.
When she got to the office, she was in awe at the sight of her father with arms wide open. My cousin’s dad was home from the war in the unexpected time and really did give her a wonderful surprise. She ran to him and they hugged each other for what seemed like forever, while in between sobs my cousin was mumbling things to her dad. I was also delighted my uncle is home safe and sound.
She has always told her father the computer gadget that she would really love to have. But when my uncle said, “Come and let’s buy that stuff that you have always wished for,” She didn’t stop hugging his dad, and my cousin just said, “There’s no need, Dad. You are home, and that’s all that matters.” A teacher was able to have a video coverage of that special moment and shared it on You Tube. Our other relatives in other cities were informed and were able to share the joy through the broadcasting website.
We are sure you have stories to tell, too. Share your lovely reunions and the surprises you received from your brave loved ones. Write it here and let the world know we are not alone in our lonely days, and we are one in sharing the bliss of homecomings!
